Gov Radda resumes duty, leads Katsina investment drive to China

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has officially resumed his duties after a one-month constitutional leave and immediately embarked on a five-day investment drive to China.

Accompanied by key government officials, Governor Radda is seeking to strengthen bilateral ties and attract investments to boost Katsina State’s economy.

The delegation, which arrived in Beijing on Sunday, is scheduled to meet with Chinese government officials, investors, and manufacturers of heavy-duty equipment and agricultural implements. Renewable energy, specifically solar panels, electric tricycles, and equipment assembly plants, are among key areas of interest for the state.

Governor Radda’s itinerary includes visits to prominent Chinese companies such as Sinotruck International and Jinan Zhongnihaihe Imports and Exports Trading Co. Ltd. The state government is optimistic that the visit will result in partnerships and investments that will significantly transform the state’s agricultural and industrial sectors.

The delegation is expected to return to Nigeria on August 23, 2024. Governor Radda’s delegation to China includes his Principal Private Secretary Hon. Abdullahi A. Turaji, Commissioner for Agriculture & Livestock Development Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Bakori, Commissioner for Trade, Commerce & Investment Alhaji Adnan Na Habu, and Lead Consultant Mr. Haroun Abba Gana.

This working visit marks Governor Radda’s first official assignment following his return from one-month constitutional leave, during which Deputy Governor Malam Faruq Lawal Jobe served in an acting capacity.
